1100 Freshman Chorus

Prerequisite: Treble (Soprano or Alto) voice
Description: Come be part of a team of freshman working together to make quality music. Whether you’re new to chorus or have years of experience, this year-long class specializes in bringing out the beauty of the treble voice. Have fun as you perform in various concerts throughout the year.

Students will experience music representing diverse cultures, styles, and genres.
Students are required to participate in 3-4 local concerts per year.
Students will learn and develop the ability to read music.

Description: Bring out your inner DIVA! Working as a team, students will combine singing and dancing to create eye catching performances. Learn the fundamentals of choreography and how movement enhances a musical production.

Description: So you really love to sing...you’ve come to the right place! Acappella is an advanced course for vocal musicians ready to perform various works of all genres including collegiate and festival level literature.

Peer and self-assess rehearsals to refine music for performances
Deeply examine the technical and expressive aspects of music
Auditioning for ILMEA is strongly recommended
A minimum of 5 required concerts per year

Description: GLITZ, GLIMMER, SHINE, & SHIMMER! Choraliers celebrates the connection between movement and music as students present dozens of performances throughout the school year to various audiences in a variety of venues. Students work toward mastery of vocal techniques and choreography in a variety of music, including today’s pop, Broadway show tunes, and show choir standards.

Students will collaborate with peers to improve performance qualities and establish personal performance goals.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the technical and performance demands of various prepared or improvised performances.
5-6 Required Performances per year with additional seasonal performances as scheduled.
Students demonstrate an ability to repeat sequences and synchronize actions to improve performance quality.

Description: Do you like music? Do you catch yourself jamming out to the radio? This year-long vocal music class introduces new or developing performers to the fundamentals of chorus. Come be part of a group working together to perform in high-energy concerts throughout the year. This course may be repeated for credit.
